Salvage your Core

Guilty of filling your plate with too much stuff? Every one of us has done it at some point in our lives.  Few of us have learn to portion control but some of us have yet to learn to say “No!”

I am not talking about food or weight loss.  I am, however, talking about weighing our mind with too much glob.  Especially, us moms.  We don’t know how to say no or when it is enough. We take on all the house chores and outside errands on top of mothering our children (even when they are old enough to do tackle their own duties).  On top of it, we hustle employment/ business, hobbies, and social life.  And then, when the school or community asks for volunteers, we are first to raise our hands.  We need to stop filling our plates and start delegating duties to rest of the family.

We can’t be on our A game if we are exhausted with mundane things.  Enough is enough, and it is time to make ourselves a priority.  Invest in things you like to do, and not so much in things you have to do.  Things do get done: everybody is fed by dinner time and in clean dishes, and everyone has clean underwear to wear.

What is important is again prioritizing our inner core.  What makes you happy? Activities that bring joy to you.  Because if your core gets cracked, the whole empire shakes out of their root.

Don’t burden yourself with what other people are doing, because grass always seems to be greener on the other side.  If you can’t enjoy your own hues, you won’t be able to appreciate all the colors around you.  Salvage your core!
